Start with a conversation
You do not have to hide your fear or explain why it has been a while. Tell us what makes visits hard. Ask for a pause signal, a slower pace, or a step-by-step explanation.
Ask about laughing gas
Nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas, is breathed through a small nose mask. It can help you relax while you stay awake. Numbing medicine may still be needed for treatment.
Plan for your health
Tell us about medicines, health conditions, and pregnancy before your visit. Not every comfort option suits every patient. We will explain possible side effects, such as nausea, and any instructions for food or a ride home.
Ask about fees before choosing an option. Do not take extra medicine to calm your nerves unless your care team tells you to.
Common questions
Will I be asleep?
Laughing gas does not put you to sleep. You can usually respond to the team.
Can I stop for a break?
Yes. Let us know when you need to pause. We will agree on a signal before starting.
This is general information. An exam helps us find the right care for you.
